1) The 8^th month’s meaning

Eight always signifies the material world of matter. We consider the number four to be the square (4 sides) and the number 8 to be the cube, 8 sides, as the square moves from a 2-dimensional figure into a 3-dimensional world. The number 26 (which adds to an 8 , ) is also very important in that it signifies the fullest expression of Divinity in the material world. The number 8 is filled with power, authority and leadership. An entire book could be written about its sacred meanings and importance.

The Asian culture looks to the number 8 as being very lucky. People clamor to put it on their license plates, office numbers, phone numbers etc. It is filled with superstition.

People actually carry it around in their wallet hoping it will attract money. The number 8 is also considered to be the “Lord of Karma” and is ruled by Saturn, father time, Diablo, the devil and Chronos (for chronology). It is a force to be reckoned with.

Where does that leave us in August? Do not waste the energy of this month. You are being instructed and tested in the use of money and power during this month. While your friends are on vacation, you can be productive and proactive for your own good. Although we in America allow ourselves to take vacations in July and August, I urge you to get as much done by the middle of this month.

There is another Mercury Retrograde experience starting on August 20^th. You will want to get as much done as you can by August 15^th, Do not make large, important purchases from about August 15^th through September 15^th. Postpone applying for a refinance of your house, buying a TV or any other electronic equipment, automobile, 1^st time job interviews etc. This is an excellent time period to catch up on everything. Go back and finish projects. Try not to initiate new projects during this 30 day period. Mercury goes retrograde at least 3 times a year. It is wise to know when this is to occur and plan accordingly.

2) Question:

Why do I feel I know someone when I meet them for the first time?

Answer:

We reincarnate in Soul families. This is why it is so common to have an important relationship with someone from a former life. We confuse this at times with a “Soul Mate”. Soul mates and Soul families are two different things. We meet many members from our Soul families.

It is quite normal. Some of these repel us or attract us. If you can be quiet with yourself and get into a meditative state, you will be able to feel or see what that old relationship was. I recommend you keep your own counsel on this rather than going to a medium to tell you who they were.

The most important focus of everyone seems to be the economy and when it will turn around. It isn’t so much about turning around as it is about getting off the floor. If you have been knocked down, you don’t immediately get up and start turning around. This is media speak. Change that lasts takes time.

The focus of the next 14 years will be on laws (rewriting them), increased regulations and limits. Some of them will be worthwhile; others will have to be rewritten as they have been passed for political gains rather than common sense effect.

The groups they affect will do their darnedest to get around them. Voila, credit cards and the banks. They are doing everything to get more fees to replace those lost by squeezing the public. The latest try is offering “professional cards” or “corporate cards” that will not come under the new credit card rulings. Be very careful before you consider the new offerings from the credit card companies.

All in all we are learning to live differently. We are getting used to conserving and buying with cash. What a great feeling to buy with cash. You can also bargain better with cash. Keep asking for discounts on everything—especially if you have cash.

Isn’t it interesting to watch most of the cities and states being forced to tighten their belts and be more efficient? So far very few are really doing very much about it but wringing their hands and laying off the easiest to let go—libraries, services for the young and old and other services that we came to rely on. The states and cities haven’t gotten to the real core of the problem—the bloatedness of government and the entitlement programs that go with it. It is coming and there will be gnashing of the teeth but it beats bankruptcy of a city or a state. As I said for the past few YEARS, the social contract is broken. The government began to serve its own interests and not of the public interests.

This all takes time. Actually 14 more years are quite short. We have to have a real estate correction (in California I would expect the turn round to begin in earnest in about 2014), government structural changes including the pension programs, exposure of no-bid contracts, political-contribution-bid-contracts, rebuilding of the country’s infrastructure, public awareness and activism and a myriad of other neglected areas. The good thing about this time period is we all have to get real and stop pretending that it is business and usual. It isn’t.

America is a generous, fun loving country with a “can do” attitude. It has a great birth chart and will recover itself. But first, it has to get its blinders off and lose some of its naivety. Not including the Civil War, America has never really had a foreign war on its own soil. We did have the War of 1812 but most people don’t even know what that is about. We have become complacent and isolated and are being invited through commerce and the global market place to join the family of other countries.

I mentioned in one of my letters that the financial world is helping lead us to one world. We all need to travel overseas to gain a sense of perspective. I would suggest that instead of raising the price of a passport (just recently done in July) that the government make them easily available for Americans to travel outside the country to see how the world works beyond our shores.

I recently saw a film entitled “Life During Wartime”. It is a strange film and will probably be a cult classic one day. The cast of characters in this move are pretty dysfunctional and very stereotyped. There is a poignant line at the end of the movie where the young boy of divorced parents—almost 13 and striving to be the man of the house—finally says to the adults when they are discussing freedom and democracy, that he doesn’t care about freedom and democracy, all he wants is his Dad. As simple as that! When all is said and done it really comes down to the basics. It isn’t about Tea Parties, Sarah Palin, Barack Obama, Afghanistan, or the stock market.

We really all want the same thing—to be comforted, to be accepted, to be loved and to be at peace. Wherein lies the question. Are the activities of your life taking you closer or further away from what is truly important and necessary for you?

Suggestion for our current conditions: Micro loan funding

There are many people out there, through no fault of their own, facing some awful hardships. They live in their cars since they lost their homes. They are showing up at shelters and soup kitchens. Their businesses are hanging on by a thread. If the business closes, it will make more people unemployed.

Many of us are familiar with micro loans outside of the United States. This movement is beginning right here on our own shores. If any of you are interested in starting a micro-loan program and helping Americans, please form a group and see what you can do in your own area. Those of you who are looking to invest your monies at a decent interest rate might want to consider pooling your monies to start a Micro Fund. The interest can be a very good return for you and you could be helping numerous Americans. Please let me know what you think of this idea and if any of you are doing it.

1) The 7^th Month of the Year, July

Go away! Take a vacation! Get out of town! This is the month to do it. July, the 7^th month of the year, is similar to a big day of rest—the 7^th day. I encourage you to at least spend one morning a week walking to a nice peaceful spot and spending some time alone with yourself. Sit by the river this month rather than the normal pushing of the river.

This is the month of the mind so it is an excellent time to get interested in things of a scientific nature and anything that is favorable for close examination. This could be perfecting your plans through contemplation and reflection. The trend this month is toward more peaceful endeavors. In general, things are quieter. Certainly the first week of the month is focused on play and vacation as the 4^th of July launches the official summer holiday. For those in the Midwest and East Coast, summer is very short so do take the time to enjoy this sleepy month. “Nature delights in the number seven.”—(c20B.C.—c.40A.D., Alexandrian philosopher).

In Numerology the number seven is probably the most venerated number in ancient times and science. Its name has similar pronunciation around the world, i.e. Sanskrit saptan, Latin septem, Arabic sabun, Hebrew sheva, Spanish siete, Egyptian, sefek, and although the Greeks used the word hepta for seven, they nicknamed it “sebo” or “veneration”. The Bible contains numerous examples of this sacred number. A few of these are: 7 lions in the lions’ den with Daniel, 7 locks of Samson’s hair were cut and Joshua had 7 trumpeters circling Jericho. On top of that we hear of the 7 voyages of Sinbad, the 7 Wonders of the World, animals who were considered clean were admitted to Noah in batches of 7, unclean animals by 2, Snow White had 7 dwarfs and the number 7 is used often as the “lucky” number.

There is much meaning in this number seven and each seventh year is considered a year of release as both we and the soil are to rest. Even today we set the statute of limitations for some crimes to be seven years. In ancient days it was the year of release of debts and slaves were set free.

Free yourself this month from your rigid routines and rest assured that you will be more productive in August, the 8^th month. This is a necessary rest period in the 12 month cycle. Attract, through your mind, what you need rather than chase after it.

2) Question of the Month:

How do Numerology and Astrology work together?

Answer:

I receive this question quite often. People seem to know their Sun sign but have little knowledge of their numbers and particularly their Life Path number. Numerology is the order of the energies of heaven. It sets up the geometry of the universe. It is the blueprint for all things in the universe and on earth. The entire space of the world is mathematically based. Each of us has a Number blueprint. It is your code, your formula, your geometric design.

Numbers represent “sound” quality so in actuality when we voice numbers we emit sounds. We vibrate to sound and our own names and dates of birth are walking sound machines. Within the date of birth and name lies your guidance system for this incarnation. So we must begin with sound and vibrate out into the universe through this mechanism. Numerology defines the sound and gives it a structure or in simple terms a “house to live in”.

Astrology designates the planetary system. In personal astrology, a person is magnetized by the planetary positions at the moment you take your first breath. Forever, in this incarnation, you will be working with that magnetic imprint. This could be seen as the rooms of the house of Numerology.

They get redesigned by transits. You get to sit in this room or that room and experience what goes on there. The planetary system is in perpetual motion called transits so as you develop in this lifetime you are affected by the changes of the planets’ position and the moving letters of your name.

Always remember that there is constant change and creation and that your conditions and decisions are subject to these transits. Without knowing your Numerology chart and Astrological information, it is very challenging to progress in a particular incarnation.

3) View from the Freeway

The picture is becoming into view. You are beginning to see all the work that needs to be done by us over the next 14 -15 years. Where do we start, what should we do and will we be okay? At a meeting I recently attended, the topic of community support for a certain issue arose.

The challenge was to try and get more community support for a neighborhood goal. One person summed it up pretty easily; she said in her opinion people are broke, tired, burned out and scared. If this is more truth than fiction, there is much work ahead of us.

I noticed a recent “Times” report that only a few states made positive gains this past year, North Dakota, Montana and Alaska, Arkansas broke even and the rest of us are treading water or sinking and bobbing. It was a pretty grim picture of the State of the Union.

But, it does allow for big corrections. Although it appears that not much is being accomplished, it is an historical time we are experiencing and we will understand its significance by looking back over these years. It was Ralph Waldo Emerson who said that “the years teach much that the days never knew”. Unfortunately, we tend to wrap ourselves up in soundbites and headlines without further exploration of the real changes that are taking place. We learn mainly by looking backwards.

Looking at America’s Numerology report I forecast that lifestyle changes will be going on for the next 14-15 years. We will be challenged to change the social contract of this country. The major transits in America’s chart do not allow her to behave as “business as usual”. These past two years were only the appetizers for the main entre which should land on our plates beginning in 2011, extra helpings in 2012, 2013 and indigestion by 2014. Once we get past the fall elections of 2010, you will see some serious changes in how the states govern themselves.

Here are a few:

1) Continual cutback in social services as cities, states and counties go broke.

2) Increased regulations in the financial sector so that consumer credit is less available and mortgages are harder to come by. This should keep the housing sector in very slow recovery. There could possibly be another program–not yet presented–that could help Americans with their heavy debt burden. It will be focused on reducing Americans credit card debt. Things need to get more contracted before this program is brought forth.

3) Raise in fees for just about everything, state camping fees, event fees, parking fees, permit fees, utility fees, registration fees etc. Fees replace taxes which nobody wants to be seen increasing. We call it a “fee” rather than raising your taxes. State and local governments will eventually be forced to reduce their waste and redundancy.

4) Very slow job recovery—very slow. Technology continues to replace the worker.

5) A permanent change in what we consider to be the “workplace”

6) A gradual diminishment of retirement as the concept continues to die away and become unacceptable. (I have always said the Soul did not come here to retire). Our greatest years will begin to be seen as starting after 50 years of age going to 60 years of age once we start taking better care of our bodies—early on into the incarnation. This is a good element of this contraction.

7) Complete review by the citizens of the political system and the wounded social contract. The citizens are angry and are feeling disenfranchised. Bloated bureaucracies, entitlement programs, corporate welfare, unrealistic union benefits and expectations will be questioned and exposed. Expect marches, protests, town hall meetings, potential riots as early as 2011. The acute phase of the changes is during the next three years.

Steady rise in the volunteer force as citizens take over the duties that formerly belonged to the local governments. People will think of all kinds of ingenious ways to keep services going. The volunteer force of the population will become increasingly critical as we try to maintain order.

What can we do to prepare for a better quality of life for our country?

1) Develop a system within yourself that connects you to your source of life and that core of you that is your “forever you”. The part of you that is everlasting, all knowing, wise and calm. Connect with it as often as possible but at least once a day.

2) Listen to your hunches. Stop ignoring them. Pay attention to them. They are part of your guidance system.

3) Do not expect somebody or something to save you. Create your own “luck” and take good care of yourself so that when your good arrives you can partake in it.

4) Develop a healthy—not neurotic—routine for yourself. Stay very flexible and be willing to change as circumstances dictate.

5) Take really good care of your health and your emotions. Get rid of people who are downers, environments which are downers and activities that do not support you.

6) Stop fixing anyone else but yourself. That is enough and it will keep you very busy.

7) Do not create more suffering for others. Understand they are doing the best they can with what they know.

Keep focusing on your 3 year and 10 year plan. Much will have changed in both of these time frames. Be adaptable. Be patient. Change locations and be resourceful. It is no longer the poor student or the starving artist mentality. It is a period of contraction and it will finally expand when the contraction is complete. You can now accept outrageous jobs at a reduced income and be very respectable. Remember, you were always self-employed, you just did not realize it.

9) Get involved with your community and government so that wise, balanced and genuine change takes place.

10) Do not believe everything you hear from the media, the web etc. Think for yourself after you have investigated the situation. Stop operating in the “herd” mentality. Be pragmatic and choose to stay calm as the situation heats up. Adopt a calm lifestyle and refuse to accept drama with yourself and with others.

11) Get out of complacency. Much of the problems we are currently experiencing have come about because of our complacency. Stand for something. Take an educated stand. We need informed, wise leaders willing to speak up and out. Start a movement!

12) Keep some cash in the house. Hide it well but do have it instantly available to you. Be extremely careful with your online banking. Over 1/3 of Americans have experience identity theft. Online banking for commercial accounts can be risky. Banks are not required to reimburse a business bank account if your account is hacked and money taken. Don’t depend on your usual Virus protection to save you. Most hackers know how to get around all of your protection software. Get smarter on where you leave your information online.

It is going to get very serious over the next several years. Eventually taxes will go up, interest rates will rise (not for awhile) and strikes will occur in the government sector as public sector employees react to a cut back in benefits which the private sector citizen can no longer support. It is all part of the “death and transformation” period of the world and no part is spared.

The sun will still shine, the rain fall, babies will be born, people will die and life will go on. At the end of this period you can expect a more mature nation, less bloated, less naïve and more of a citizen of the world than it is today.

How many weddings and graduations can you attend in one month? Just about everyone is invited to one of these during this 6^th month of the year. Six is considered the number of love, marriage, family, responsibility, domestic changes and improvements in the living arrangements. It is also the number of divorce. I was not surprised to learn that the Gore divorce would be announced in the 6^th month.

The number six also pertains to mercy and justice. This is the month where you will witness more headlines pertaining to the “rights” of an individual, standing up to social injustice, protests and the rest. The Israeli event will produce headlines that speak to social injustice. It all goes hand in hand with the number six. Remember the 60’s? It was all about “love” and Woodstock, flowers in the hair. You had the beginning of “free” love, the pill, social injustice events—Martin Luther King Jr., voter registration in the south, marches, protests and of course, the Vietnam War.

Dusty Bunker in her book “Numerology, Astrology and Dreams” speaks of the energy of the number six. “Six and sex are very similar in sound and spelling. It was on the sixth ‘day’ that woman and man were created. And Key 6 in the Tarot is called The Lovers. Older versions of this key show a naked young woman and man facing a crowned woman (Great Mother Goddess), representing the union of opposite but complementary expressions of existence. Of course, sex was part of this expression.

Therefore, in magic, which is the art of controlling and directing the forces of nature to bring about physical change, both the pentagram and the hexagram were used. The pentagram is the five-pointed star indicating the senses,…the hexagram is the six-pointed star, representing the union of opposites. To control nature one must have control of the senses and the creative combining of opposites.”

The hexagram (6 pointed star) is a very ancient symbol that predates Judaism. Early people who predated Moses saw the hexagram as the symbol of the union of the sexes. Best wishes to the bride and groom, the lovers and those who witness the union during this “lovely” month of June.

2) Question and Answer

Do we have our own separate time frames while here on Earth?

Yes, most definitely we do. In addition to the information located in the name at birth, there is also information located in the date of birth. This information tells you of your particular time frames. You are not on anyone else’s time. I also mention here that a blueprint is at least approximately 120 years. You have customized your time here so that you will be focusing on particular experiences. Now we think we must accomplish certain milestones based on man-made laws and cultural traditions. These, however, are always changing. A good example is the changing of the age of retirement and the Social Security programs. We didn’t even have retirement programs at the start of the 20^th century. Beneath all these artificial time frames lies your own personal time frame. Once you know this, you can concentrate on your own growth based on your Divine Timetable. Some people don’t really get started on their success years until past the ages of 50 and 60. Remember, the soul never came here to retire.

3) View from the Freeway

Wow, another exciting and challenging month. It is definitely testing our faith as well as our fortune. This summer is setting itself up to be quite volatile and full of sound bites. Do not be whipsawed by the headlines. They will appear scary but we seem to thrive on being scared. For your peace of mind and your health, remember to turn down the volume and take a walk fully present, without listening to your Ipod.

It is good every once in awhile to reflect on the “bigger” picture. Here are some ideas to keep in mind:

1) We are closing an “Age”. What does that really mean? Answer, a great deal. You see, every 2,300 years or so, another Age is ushered in. Each Age brings with it a certain quality that is to be experienced and ingrained by the Earth’s creatures. We are standing on the precipice of a new Age while we finish up the old Age. It is not a fun place to be. The old Age is the Age of Pisces and the new Age is the Age of Aquarius. While we are in this “middle world”, we experience chaos, big Earth changes, new fears and, of course, superstition.

2) The Age of Pisces (the old Age) ushered in world religions, the opportunity to learn “emotions”, suffering, sacrifice, collective behavior and was represented by water and other fluids. This includes travel by water, baptism by water, walking on water, water into wine and hidden fluids—including oil. Oil is actually part of the “old” Age and will be passing out of our lifestyles. Just as we traveled by boat for long distances, we will be leaving traveling by fluid substances. As religious suffering and sacrifice were part of this order, they too will pass on as outdated tools. Religions from this period will also fade and be less involved in the every day life of the people. This will take many, many years but it is the natural progression of our own progress.

3) The Age of Aquarius, the new Age, will usher in the era of the “mind”. It is not ruled by water but by “air”. Our travel is by air, we use airwaves to send information and we will make breakthroughs in the use of the mind The development of the individual and its’ importance within the collective will be the focus of this period. You can expect great innovation, discoveries and problems of the mind—mental illness, the aging brain, attention deficit and more. Since we are on the brink of this Age, you are experiencing the ending of the use of oil, the clean up of the degradation left by the Piscean Age and crossovers in religious orders as they become diluted.

The oil explosion in the Gulf, the religious fanaticism around the world, the interest and increased importance placed on the environment, the world wide exposure of human right’s abuses (focus on the needs of the individual) all point to the end of the old Age and the birthing of the new.

We are in a dramatic change period right now as we remove excess from the system and focus on what are the essential ingredients of a modern society. You can expect the next 15 years to be filled with great innovation and invention and a flurry of ideas on how to apply them. While this is going on, you will also see the dark side of innovation so that humankind can learn how to work wisely with its own creations. Remember fire can be used to warm you as well as burn your house down. We have already seen the announcement last month of the first “synthetic cell”. This has great promise of many new possibilities—including some dark ideas. Progress, however, just like creation, cannot be stopped. The universe is constantly creating.

If we look at today’s headlines, we see pretty much the old Piscean way of experiencing life. Lots of group rants, suffering in the name of religion, abuses of human rights and pollution of the waterways (old Piscean water quality). We are, however, making progress. We need to stop with the “suffering” and stop adding more “suffering” on those around us. We have gotten so used to suffering that we think it is a way of life. This, too, is the old Piscean way of living.

As you travel by oil-fueled car, keep in mind that you are looking at the face of the “mind” and that you are beginning to develop your own individuality. The tribal mentality is breaking down. You are witnessing the development of the rights of the individual and the needs of the collective. There will be continuous debate and arguments as to the preservation of both (collective bargaining for example). When the next 2,300 years have passed, we will be ingrained with using our intuition and mind power.

You cannot rush this period. Everything is on its own timetable. When you force nature to accommodate itself to us, we experience the blow back (such as in the gulf). Technology will help us but we cannot forget what we learned from the prior Age of Pisces, the Age of feelings and emotions. These must be taken into account as well.

There is a rush to technology without thinking of all the unintended consequences. We are learning to use our minds wisely, to “think” things through and to not get caught up in our emotions when forcing change. Our fading Age of Pisces was to teach us how to process our emotions so that we can move forward into learning how to handle our minds. We must learn to work these together well. If we do not, we will continue on learning through harsh methods.

4) Rant of the Month

Read your food labels and stop consuming so much salt. I brought this point up a few months ago but it bears repeating. We have too much sodium in our diets and we are living longer. The two are a dangerous combination. As we age, we naturally accumulate deposits in our arteries as well as a narrowing of them. This makes it very important to support your body by making it easier for blood to flow. Excess salt does the opposite. It causes high blood which can cause strokes, heart attacks, kidney damage and poor circulation. High blood pressure also reduces sexual functioning. That should be a good incentive to reducing it.

We are addicted to the taste of salt and this is greatly supported by the food industry. If they cut back on salt, they would have to enhance the flavor of the food by more expensive herbs and other natural flavors. The industry is fighting for its right to maintain excess amounts of sodium in its foods. It is especially hidden in the frozen foods. The “freshly frozen” chicken meats, fish etc. are injected with a salt water solution to add inexpensive weight to the product. In turn, you get less food and more sodium in your system.

For the good health of your body structure (remember a blue print is close to 120 years) count your daily salt intake. Limit it to no more than 2,000 milligrams a day if you do not have high blood pressure. If you have high blood pressure, limit it to no more than 1,500 milligrams a day. As we purchase more ready-made, processed, frozen and take-out foods, we are in greater danger of accumulating too much sodium and are susceptible to high blood pressure. You may not always be able to control your mind, but you do have better control over your body and what goes in its mouth.
