1) The 2nd Month of the Year
In February, things begin to stir from the depth of winter. We
have more light in the Northern Hemisphere and we are shaking off
more of the residue from 2007. Our plans can now begin to take shape.
There are several things to be aware of this month. The first is
the retrograde of the planet Mercury. This period began on January
28th and continues until February 19th. If you can postpone initiating
contracts, shopping and buying large purchases I would recommend
it. Check all forms of communication to make sure both parties are
on the same page. There are two eclipses this month as well; the
first on February 6th and the second on February 21st. All in all
with this much instability this month, I highly recommend you play
catch up and clean up rather than initiate. If you want more success
with your projects and affairs, try and wait until after the New
Moon in March-the 8th of March. You will make much more progress
next month.
Having announced this introduction to February, it is a month of patience. Since it is the second month of year, it invites one to become more
cooperative, patient and diplomatic. The number two is the number of thinking past "yourself" to the other. Besides Valentine's Day and promoting
a significant other, it is the month of sharing and expressing your feelings for another. To improve your ability to get along this month, persuasion
will go much further than force. Remember, Bob Dylan's song "Everybody is shouting, which side are you on?" For the number two to exist requires two
parts, not one part. We are past the initiating "one" month of January. Now we have the opportunity to negotiate and arbitrate to the satisfaction of
both parties. Remember it takes "two" to tango. Don't push your projects in February. Let them flow and breathe. Especially with all these unusual
energy events taking place.
2) View From the Freeway
Well, do you like the economy, the elections, the war and the weather so far this year? It is starting out as a humdinger. I have said it so much
and so often "fear sells". Right now it is selling a whole lot better than "faith" and "trust". Add common sense to that as well. I would suggest that
at this time of our lives, a bit of common sense and practicality will go far.
Yes, the housing market is in a slump and yes, the stock market
is slouching and unemployment rising. But remember, the Zohar (mystical
Jewish text) cites that "everything that originated from the tree
of knowledge carries in it duality." None of these events we read
about is very startling. What we do is look at what has taken place
over the last 25 years (when credit card use really took off and
screwy things happened in lending). You can see the present state
of affairs being created. We need the dose of reality. Most people
are not going to lose their houses. Many people will gain through
this "crisis". I just met this morning with a financial adviser
to look at what are the possibilities for purchasing real estate
for the long term hold at very attractive rates and prices. The
idea is not to panic. Marilyn Ferguson, the American writer, wrote
"our biggest failure is our failure to see patterns."
There are several areas of the economy that will do well and will thrive through this period. It is imperative to gain more knowledge of the global
economy and get an idea of the different options you have. Remember, the words for the day are "boutique knowledge". Find your special nitch of expertise.
Differentiate yourself from the "herd". Don't retrain for jobs that are not going to be around that long. Definitely look into aspects of the health care
professions, areas of conservation, information, communication and energies. America is moving away from the manufacturing side to the information and
communications side. Get yourself on the right side.
For those of you who are worrying about your retirement funds, I say again, "the Soul does not come here to retire". Remove it from your thought
patterns. You can plan on different careers at each stage of your life. Stop preparing yourself for the worst. Preparing yourself for a new career
will keep you vital, smart and healthy. I just spoke with a friend yesterday who at age 66 is embarking on a new career, full time work, full benefits
etc. with a great company in Southern California. They never knew her age but her credentials and vitality sold them. She had "retired" two years ago
but it just didn't work out for her. What a great way to stay on top of the changes in technology and new knowledge. Go to work for a good company whose
employees are younger than you and you will benefit. It definitely will fire up the engine.
Remember, nothing here on the earth plane is static. It is in a
continual state of flux. Options you never could imagine are being
created for you. You saw this week how the government responded
by lowering interest rates and discussing another Congressional
bill. I would suggest that America has entered into a very sobering
but positive cycle. It will last approximately 15 years and will
help us make corrections in areas of the social contract that are
not in line with its original promise. We started out in 1776 with
a statement of the purpose of this country. How close are we living
up to our purpose? Where we are not, will be corrected.
Next month, in Laguna Beach, I will be filming a new DVD that will be out in the market in late April. It is a film on our life and times and the world's
new Renaissance. If one can look into history and look past the headlines of today, you can see the synthesis of all these events. They are all interconnected
and are part of the Renaissance cycle that naturally occurs approximately every 500 years. I will be announcing a "presale" of this DVD and will give you
more information on it next month. I think these times are "stimulating" and necessary for us to grow and to understand the deeper connection of each of us
to each other.
For those of you who are closely following the Presidential primaries. It will be pretty clear next week who the candidates will be. I will do an
extensive background on the two candidates who win the primaries. Remember to look at the character of the person, the depth of the person not the
sound bites. Campaigns are quite fictitious so it behooves you to do your homework and trust your inner wisdom.
For those of you, who are alone this Valentine's Day, treat yourself to something healthy, wealthy and wise. Why not call a friend and take them out
for lunch, coffee, dinner or whatever the budget allows. People love to be invited out. We all need to be noticed and acknowledged.
Thank you for listening again. I always welcome your comments and will respond.
Keep trusting yourself. The choice is yours,
Gail
