  • Table of Contents:

  • 2) Question and Answer
  • 3) View from the Freeway
  • 4) Trends
  • 5) Ponder This
  • 6) Upcoming Events

1.) The 8th Month of the Year—August.

No matter how warm it is and how often it is called the dog days of summer, this is a month to really use your timewisely. Being the 8th month of the year, it is a time of harvest. There is also a Mercury Retrograde element in effect this month so you do not want to start new projects this month. Avoid purchasing cars, houses, electronics, big ticket items and check all your correspondence, messages etc. DO NOT ASSUME ANYTHING THIS MONTH. You may think someone got your message, you may think they understand what you mean but you might be wrong. Above all, go back over things you need to finish. Do not be lazy. Get some iced tea, lemonade, start early while it is cooler and be effective this month. Do not get frustrated and follow up judiciously.

The number 8 is the number of manifestation and karma. What seeds did you plant this year? Did you plant any? Are you behind the 8 ball? The number is very attached to the physical world. It focuses on money, possessions, status and achievement. Although we think of August as the dog days of summer and the final days before school begins, think in terms of number meaning and harvest, achieve and focus.

2.) Question and Answer (from “Here are Your Answers, Vol. III” by Flower Newhouse)

Question:

Must I forgive someone who has wronged me?

Answer:

“Yes, it is very important. When you can forgive, you can be forgiven in the future. It is hard to do, perhaps, if the wrongdoer has been criminal, but as time goes on you will find changes in your viewpoint toward an individual who has hurt you. Realize that you must have had this injury coming or it would not have arrived at your doorstep. Therefore, bless the person who brought you that sorrow. Bless him, and free him from obligation so that you will never need to see him again. Feeling vindictive becomes a strong imprisoning link between you and whomever you cannot forgive. The time will come when you will have that person as a close family member or figure, and you will not like that at all. The more you forgive others, the more sure you can be that you will not have them in close karmic association. If you never want to see then again after having freed them, you can also arrange that.”

3.) View from the Freeway

No matter how much we would like to think that this quarter or the second half of this year will improve economically, the writing is on the wall that it will not. I continue to write about the new American Revolution and how important it is that we make the necessary changes to the American way of governing and life. We have about 12 more years to do what we need to do to turn this ship around. Pressure will continue to be applied until we realize that we must be active in turning around the ship of state.

The uncertainty will continue and Washington will not fix it. As you have seen by the raising of the debt ceiling, it is mostly theater and the protection of vested interests. The sound bites yell out “entitlements must be cut”. The question is whose entitlements? Are they corporate entitlements, government entitlements or individual? Fish stinks from the head down goes the old expression so let’s take a look at the head. How about going to Congress first?

Case in point our ex-legislator, Anthony Weiner, the social media porn-star wannabe. He resigned in disgrace after

insisting he would stay on. However, he is still eligible for retirement benefits. What? How can that be? If you were

The Big House

The Big House

fired from private industry, would you maintain your retirement plans with that company? Weiner will still be able to collect his pension and other benefits that could total more than $1 million during his lifetime. He will be eligible for his pension after he turns 55 (he is 46 now).

Case in point Paul Ryan, the 41 year old Congressman from Wisconsin. He comes out of the gate leading the troops for change to Social Security. Ryan was elected at the young age of 28 and has really never worked in private industry in America. Prior to Congress, he was staff member for Sen. Bob Kasten and he worked as a speech writer to US Drug Czar William Bennett and former US representative Jack Kemp. He also was a legislative director for US Senator Sam Brownback. The only private business experience was a brief stint of time as a “marketing consultant” for his family construction business. Now I ask you, how did he come to know the needs of those on Social Security? He barely knows himself and has lived on the dole of the taxpayer since he got out of college.

Ask yourself what is the life of experience of those you have elected? What qualifies them to make huge changes that will impact our lives? Who are these people? Have they ever made payroll, do they rely on Social Security? Interestingly enough, Paul Ryan did.

His father, a lawyer, died when he was 16. He collected Social Security survivor benefits for two years that he says he put towards his college costs.

Congress is full of these legislators who live as a member of this privileged political class. Many want to get into it. Who wouldn’t? Even if they serve for only one term, they are eligible for retirement benefits. In the House of Representative, one term is only 2 years. Those who lack the experience ride into Congress full of righteousness and verbosity. They would be comical except for the fact that they affect yours and my lives. For those who resign in disgrace or are voted out of office, they can use their “career” in government as a stepping stone to a lucrative new career as a lobbyist. Most of our laws are written by or influenced by lobbyists so getting elected or being a White House staffer is a ticket to job security. When was the last time you or I had anything to do with writing laws that affect our lives.

While all this pontificating about entitlements goes on, take a serious look at what you are paying for. Do you like it? Are you willing to make noise about it? This will be a requirement of the next 12 years. It will not get easier to make change. As soon as we, the people, start insisting on change, those in power will do their best to stay. One of the tools that will be used will be fear. Being unpatriotic is a great tool to use these days.

Haunting Words from the Past

Many years ago a well-known Nazi officer, Herman Goering, prior to committing suicide, explained the following: “Naturally the common people don’t want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”

Remember the parties are one in the same. The underlying motivation is to stay elected. No matter how much they say otherwise. To do this, they shake hands with all kinds of lobbyists and special interests who will keep them in power. Ask yourself, why is Wall Street awash in profits, chief executives with pre-recession-size bonuses and the general population of Americans holding down two jobs to make ends meet? Real wages are in decline, more homes to be foreclosed and millions keep scrambling to survive. The American economy is extremely ill. The Federal Reserve doesn’t know what to do, Bush’s TARP money, Obama’s stimulus and Bernanke’s schemes have not delivered the recovery that they promised.

We are now paying for wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, drones over Yemen and Pakistan and they are closing the elder centers in California. We have allowed this and we are the ones who can and must make the changes.

4.) Trends:

Streaming Funerals

Video cameras are now becoming a part of the funeral home sales package and people are buying it. That means you can stay at work or at home and view the funeral. You can then send comments or messages. The Los Angeles Times cites that “tech savvy baby boomers are at an age at which their parents and other relatives are dying and are easy converts to the benefits of streaming” “It’s almost like sitting there in the chapel” said John Reed, past president of the National Funeral Directors Assn. “I can even zoom in on the deceased a few times. The sound and picture quality are great.”

Does this mean we could possibly one day have to hire professional mourners like in the Bible. If we can attend funerals from the bathroom, we may have to buy mourners to make it look like somebody is actually in the audience.

Americans Elect– wants to be a third party choice

It is being reported by the Los Angeles Times that a group is attempting to upend the traditional party primary by offering an alternative presidential ticket online. The group, Americans Elect, has gained ballot access in Arizona, Alaska, Kansas and Nevada. It is currently seeking certification in California, Michigan, Hawaii, Missouri and Florida. They expect additional 18 states before year’s end. It has employed more than 1,500 signature takers in California alone. They expect to hold an online convention next June and will select a presidential ticket. Follow the trail on this interesting news.

The First Person to Reach 150 is Already Alive- Daily Mail, July 7, 2011

The New 150 Year Old

Aubrey DeGrey, the biomedical gerontologist and scientist claims that within his own lifetime doctors will have the tools needed to ‘cure’ aging. “I’d say we have a 50/50 chance of bringing aging under what I’d call a decisive level of medical control within the next 25 years or so….some sort of medical control that we have over most infectious diseases today. The idea is to engage in what you might call preventative geriatrics, where you go in to periodically repair that molecular and cellular damage before it gets to the level of abundance that is pathogenic.”

Great Prosperity and Opportunities

Life will continue to go on while the economy and government makes its changes. There continues to be opportunities to thrive in the health, alternative energy, food, water, new and different education and high tech. Education and the methods to teach it will be changing. An example of world change in education, all of South Korea’s textbooks are to go digital by 2015. (Technology Review—July 1, 2011). It plans to spend $2.4 billion buying the requisite tablets and digitizing material for them.

5.) PONDER THIS:

Ray Grasse in his wonderful book “Signs of the Times”, speaks about the different Ages that humankind lives through.

Age of Aquarius

The current approaching Age, the Age of Aquarius, emphasizes the practical over the sentimental. He speaks of an Age where rationality is applied to understand and master the physical plane. This Age, therefore, is a time of enormous mental expansion with strong practical and utilitarian slants. We, therefore, are interested in engineering, technical advancement in all areas, science, invention, social reform and business. These are all rational pursuits with physical applications.

He goes on to say that the Age of Aquarius is an air sign (ruled by both Uranus and Saturn) and has a dual nature to this time frame. Both Uranus and Saturn are concerned with science (Uranus) and time (Saturn). Uranus is more technological, social and intellectual while Saturn is more political and material in nature.

Uranus loves freedom and reform but behind the idea of “freedom” lies the same old tyrannies (the Saturn influence). You can dress up democracy, technological advancement and financial opportunities but the same old forces of power and greed are still there as dangers (the Saturn influence).

America, therefore, struggles with the problems of big government, big business and latent imperialistic tendencies. Always remember, behind Aquarian freedom lurks eccentric Saturn.

Do You Want A Private Reading Session?

————————————————————————

Most of you realize that I work with individuals and corporations in helping them with their personal blueprints. It is very important work and so I continue to do it as long as I am able to do it. Each of us arrives here with a wonderful guidance system. We create it before arrival and work with it all our lives. It is important to know what you created and what is your timing in this life. Look at former President Ronald Reagan who became president in his 70’s or new California Jerry Brown who starts his new term at 72.

Since the Soul never came here to retire, why would the personality consider that as an option? Planning on retirement has created shorter lives and less fulfilling ones. We can restructure and have many careers and life experiences but we never retire even when we think we are “in retirement”. Chief Justice Paul Stevens just retired this summer at the ripe young age of 95. Why are you any different? Plan on many careers, many experiences, and a healthy body. For clarity and understanding of your timing and your blueprint, call me or email for a private session. gail@gailminogue.com.
