The 12th Month of the Year
The number 12 has the unique quality of combining the number one and two together and, therefore, presents itself as "poise"-poise in the fact that it can easily balance two opposite numbers. This poise sets December month apart from other months in that it has the ability to walk in areas that are contrary to the common world. It is familiar with the world of cause and effect and peace and serenity fill its essence.
As we enter into this energy of the number 12, we are aware of how comfortable we are in using this number. We "round" things off to twelve. We sell items in a dozen. We are aware of 12 tribes, 12 astrological signs and 12 months of the year. We split the day into 12 hours and we are comfortable in doing so. We understand at a deeper level the wholeness of the number three, the sum total of the one and two. We are at one with the number three and create in three's.
This is the final month of the year, the creative 12, the peaceful month-the completion of the opposites in our lives. The question to ask yourself is what have you completed and are you able to be at peace during this last month? Make this month as peaceful as you can. Many people in this world can barely make peace with themselves much less with others in the world. By reversing and changing your thoughts you become free of physical encumbrances. In this 12th month, give this gift of peace to yourself.
Question of the Month :
What is the significance of the vowels in my name?
A great deal. They tell the story of what motivates you in this life time and what you have been doing in the more recent past lives. By looking at the number behind each vowel, "a" is a "1", "e" is a "5", etc.; you can total the numbers behind each of your birth names and see the picture. The sum total of all of your vowels is the clue to what fires your engine, what you like to do, what motivates you and "where you are coming from". If you can learn the sum total of the vowels in a person's original and full birth name, you will have an advantage in pleasing them, negotiating with them and assisting them. It is important to remember that the letter "Y" is normally used as a vowel. There are a few exceptions but, for the most part, you can hear the sound of the vowel when you say the letter "Y". Examples of this usage are monkey, turkey, toy, boy and Yvonne. It would not be a vowel in the word "young". Listen to the sound when you say it and you will be able to tell if it is a vowel. If there are no other vowels in the name, such as Lynn, then the "Y" becomes the vowel, even though it is silent. The letter "Y" has unique properties in Numerology and carries with it past-life experience of being hidden and disguised.
To learn more about the vowels in your name, I recommend my book "Divine Design-How You Created the Life You Are Living". It will explain in much greater detail the significance of your vowels.
Quote of the Month :
Stuart Wilde in his little book, "Life Was Never Meant to be a Struggle", mentions that "Strugglers Have Poorly Designed Lifestyles-You are the general. Plot your battle plan and stay centered on it, but let the winds and currents of life allow you to flow to other areas. Designing your life is a matter of discipline. You need certain things, and you deserve them. But how do you get them with minimal effort? By cutting out those things that are superfluous. Toss the extra baggage out, and hold on to a life of simplicity. Constantly evaluate circumstances to see if things are worth the effort. Often you'll find that they're not."
View from the Freeway
We are finally doing the "pick a name out of the hat" routine in our family this year. Whoever's name you pick will become the gift recipient. No more buying everyone a present. I have to say it is a bit odd but a relief at the same time. Along the same lines, I went to Costco to buy my eye glasses, one for driving and one for reading. Here too, I chose the least expensive frames, took a coupon with me and also received another $25 discount special from Costco. I saved quite a bit. Both of these examples are part of the same trend-contraction. It actually feels quite good. The point of those two stories is to say that we can adjust to our circumstances and we can choose to feel okay with what is being presented to us at any given time.
As we wind up this year, I really urge you to simplify as much as you can. This can be a very stressed-filled month due to all the shopping, money, crowds, food and invitations. On top of that we have uncertainty in just about every area of our society. I know things have really gotten nutty when my lawyer is doing a short sale on her house and another person who is renting my condo has done a short sale on her house as well as a bankruptcy. Before that she was making at least $100,000 per year and doing fine.
If you alive in America today, you must be hearing stories of friends and loved ones who are living in some form of limbo on their jobs, housing or both. Costco is now taking food stamps and women are forgoing getting their hair dyed and highlighted in a salon. There is general fallout as we continue this contraction. These remind me of the days back in the early 80's when we had high unemployment and awful interest rates. I got 17% on a CD but I also gave up my expensive skin care products and used Vaseline on my face. Yep, those where the good old days.
Sometime in the future we will look back at these times as the time when America changed forever. But for this month of December chill out and become more "bearlike" and hibernate. The days are very short now and we are entering the cave of winter. As hard as it is to do, rest more, go to bed earlier and say "no" more often than not. You are going to need your stamina, good health and centeredness in the New Year. The best beauty aid is a good night's sleep. Do not let people or situations rob you of that. Do a Scarlet O'Hara routine-"I'll think about that tomorrow-there is always tomorrow".
As I look at my own situation, I just had successful cataract surgery, I have three vacant properties and I have to go to court tomorrow to get some squatters out of one of them. Our loan modification was turned down here in Los Angeles, the neighbor's dog keeps barking and my brother is in his final days in a hospital in New York. No doubt I will shortly be on a plane heading east. I lost my other brother in June this year.
Why would I tell you this? The answer would be to say that while all of these things are happening to me, I am still here. I am still alive and I have choices. Every moment of every day, we are at choice. We can choose and in our choices we create our heaven or our hell. We were never put here to be comfortable, we are here to grow and we must grow. Some of those very important to us will not make the rest of the journey with us but we must go on. There are so many pieces of humanity out there that will help you, who will be glad you are alive, who are glad you smiled at them, who were glad you let them have the right of way, who will think you funny or a great cook or thrilled you just plain listened to them. It is so simple. Relieve the suffering and you will bring greater peace to yourself and to those you come in contact. Fear not these times you are experiencing. Keep making adjustments, keep simplifying your life, eat simply, don't rush and let your body tell you what is happening to it.
In the grand finale of 2008, thank the year for all it taught you about yourself and others. Forgive yourself for what you think you should have done or not done. Forgive others the same. They are all God disguised as whatever you say they are. Light the candles, sing the songs, share the gifts and weep in joy that you are still here to sing and eat and talk and move forward.
Faith Javane is her wonderful book on "Master Numbers" speaks to the Cycles of Divine Order. "Within each of us there is vast creative potential. We mature quite naturally physically and psychologically. We gradually realize that we are creating a new culture. This realization is the emergence of the Divine, like a living spirit of unfoldment within. The only subject that should be claiming our interest is the soul. If we still incarnate in Earth, then 'school' is not yet finished for us; we still need to learn obedience to the immutable laws of love. Will power will carry us far, but only love can keep us safe and help our souls to unfold.
The way of love is the way of perfect faith. What the mind dwells upon is very sure to manifest itself. Every thought and feeling that flows through us qualifies our actions. We are creating either harmony or discord, even now, day by day. We sow and reap; action and reaction resonate throughout the Universe.
Our present form of civilization is ending. Not everything will pass on at once, but our ways of living are changing. New customs are taking place in birthing, relating, and even in the care of the dead... The ideal of every spiritual system of unfoldment is to find a perfect pattern for continued growth and development. When we think of all the wonders to come when humankind pursues its holistic talents, we can conceive of a new Golden Age as a reality."
Have a wonderful holiday season and remember to love yourself.
Until next month,
Keep trusting yourself,
Gail
