1) The 4th Month of the Year

Work, practicality, productivity, structure, order, methodical, results, foundation, waste not, want not. Welcome the 4th month of the year--our month to spring clean, do our taxes and celebrate Passover. This is a VERY important month. We are literally laying the foundation for the remainder of the year. Build it wisely and do not be lazy or complacent. The entire month is a time to really put your foot on the pedal. May is not nearly as effective as April in giving you the push you need to perform.

This is the month to get your priorities straight and be as orderly as you can. I find it perfectly natural that April was designated as the month to do taxes and spring cleaning. The energy you are working with this month is surrounded by the box-like structure. This is also called "the square". Remember the old expression of being "a square" or "stuck in a box", or "boxed in". Don't forget "back to square one". Many office spaces are represented by the box. This is your clue as to how to behave this month. You can goof off in May, not April. Jungian psychologist and writer, Marie-Louise von Franz writes that through humankind's time on this planet, numbers "are archetypal structural constants of the collective unconscious... It is not what we can do with numbers but what they do to our consciousness that is essential." This practical energy will become even stronger after the new moon on April 5th. In fact, that date is excellent for you to launch your programs. We launch on new moons, not full moons.

2) Campaign 2008

As I have mentioned before, I will be providing a complete profile of the chosen candidates as soon as they are chosen. I would imagine that will be this summer as I believe the primaries will continue on until more states have voted.

For those of you who think it should be over by now, this is pretty normal behavior for the political arena. For those of you who have been watching the HBO series on John Adams, you can see the birthing of this country was pretty messy. We remain a group of independent and noisy constituents. Since we began, we have actually improved our Congressional behavior and presidential dynasties.

For example, back in 1789 45% of the members of first Congress were related to each other. (Today 10% of members of Congress have relatives who also serve in Congress.) The fact that none of the early presidents produced dynasties is due more to fate. None of them continued to produce sons and daughters were not allowed to vote, much less run for office.

3) View From the Freeway

"These are best of times, these are the worst of times" so said Charles Dickens back in the 1800's in the "Tale of Two Cities". Actually, these are the best of times. We have this great world renaissance in the making. (See my new DVD available in May) Old systems are being examined (Middle East governments as an example), more people have access to knowledge (similar to the last Renaissance's printing press invention), technology is replacing the use of human labor (similar to the ending of serfdom in Europe), and access to information is replacing superstition and diminishing fear. Even the Dalai Lama knows that modernization can be helpful to Tibet-not necessarily delivered by a gun.

The entire world is getting turned on its' head and so is each individual. What shakes out is pretty fascinating. Don't be frightened. Don't freeze in place or try to hang on to what was. It is changing too quickly. Remember, universal laws such as the law of correspondence, the law of cause and effect, the law of opposites, the law of motion, the law of rhythm (as in cycles of life), the law of balance cannot be changed. Focus on these and develop an ability to function within them. Your life is, and will always be, in order if you can remember these laws and think and act accordingly.

All human activity must be governed by these universal laws. Wherever there is imbalance, balance will strive to be maintained. Wherever there is darkness, light will counter it. Focus on the larger picture of events. Let one of your goals be to maintain your mind in a fearless, calm manner. Always remember that cause and effect is at work. If you speak ill-will of yourself, the effect will be poor self-esteem and self-devaluation.

Just think, Barbara Walters is doing a special this month on living to be aged 150-not at all impossible. We don't think we can live that long so we don't. Our entire system is set up to punch out of this lifetime with a maximum age maybe to about 100. Even retirement is set at 65. This is a perfect example of the "law of correspondence". Anybody want to start a new club with me? If so let me know. I would like to call it the "120 Year Old Club". The reason for the name is to get people planning their finances, careers, maintenance etc. for 120 years instead of 65. Now this would turn the financial world on its ear. Remember, think of the age you would like to leave this earth, rather than the date of retirement.

In the meantime, go have some fun, learn a new dance and make some new friends. You were not put here to suffer.

Until next month,

Keep trusting yourself,

— Gail
