The 9th Month of the Year - September

We are experiencing a winding down of 2009. What a year. The 9th month is not the end but the beginning of the end. The number nine is considered the number of wisdom. It collects all the events and experiences of the prior eight months and centers the wisdom learned from these prior months. What have you learned during the past nine months? In some way you have been illuminated by these experiences. Notice I didn't say thrilled or joyful from them. It is through illumination that we attain wisdom. It is your opportunity to rise above the physical and view everything from a higher perspective. Appreciate and value what you have learned and, above all, the understanding that came with the lessons.

The number nine is considered to be the greatest number of them all. It is the finishing number and brings completion to the remainder of the year. Cats have nine lives, we want to live on cloud nine, we dress ourselves to the nines, a stitch in time saves nine. In ancient Asia, gifts were given in groups of nine as they were deemed the most respectful of gifts. The Chinese word for "gift" and "nine" are the same.

So, September can look to be the month that school begins and we end our summer vacations but it is much more than these two events. We reach the finishing line in the number nine and we would best be served by reflecting on what we have learned and how we have benefited by the prior eight months. Just think how your life has changed since January. What are you doing differently? What do you need to put together? What do you need to discard? Where is your power and how are you using it? The cycle goes on whether we are aware of it or not. Enjoy the reflection and congratulate yourself on your growth and progress. We are not talking about money, jobs, houses or health. We are speaking to the part of you that is indestructible, creative and transcendent. This is the core of you that you carry from lifetime to lifetime. This is the true work here. Possession of which is "nine tenths of the law".

Question of the Month

In Numerology, does the personal year begin in January or on the month of your birthday?

Answer:

I often am asked this question. Many books will tell you that your personal year begins on the month of your birth. It has been my experience, from years and years of readings that the personal year begins in January of the year and increases with energy as it reaches your month of birth. Always keep in mind that January and February of any year are sleepy months. They are pretty much a hangover from the previous year both universally and personally. Not much gets moving until March. This is universal and has an effect on us all. If I am doing a private session for you, I will always start your personal year in January but give you the key points of the year, particularly as it relates to your birthday month. Some years overlap but the January start date stays very accurate.

Are we in Kansas yet? If I click these red slippers, will it help? How about painting my brick walk yellow? Do you think any of this will work? Maybe a little garlic around the neck? Should we send Washington and Wall Street a book on "Robert's Rules of Order" or something by Emily Post on etiquette? What a show!!!! It looks like the Greek philosopher, Diogenes, was right. We need more lanterns to seek the honest man.

Do not, repeat, do not despair! It is expose, destroy, frustrate and build anew! I have said all along that we are in the early phase of this big remodification program of the United States and the world. It's a journey with many stops on the way. Some of them are not comfortable. I wish our "leaders" (politicians) could get a grip on themselves but it will be up to the population to either support their continuance or replace them. They are reflectors of us. Do you want a different reflection? If so, what do you need to do to support positive change?

I have said, well before Obama was elected, that the word "hope" was in the same Pandora's box as all the other items. It is very, very important to take that word along with its brothers and sisters. Wishes and hopes are not solid. They are wistful. I don't hope I am getting paid well. I am getting paid well. Do you see the difference? We cannot go on this road and accomplish much with hope and wishes. Whether we want to admit it, we have stayed out of the picture in our leadership and government for years and years. We gave our power to our financial advisers, to our doctors, to our insurance companies, to our politicians, to our bankers, to the government and to our spiritual leaders. Now we look and say, wow, how did things get this messy? Look how wasteful "they" are! Let's go scream and rant at each other, look silly and feel better.

What's missing here? The answer, citizen monitoring, accountability, exposure and ethics. Some people call it "civic duty". Goofy, emotional ranting doesn't get much - maybe a few sound bites on CNN or FOX. What does last are well-informed citizens, united, strong and more interested in the unity of the country than the polarization of it.

I get so many nutty emails forwarded to me by people who are not really looking behind the material they are forwarding. They just pass it on whether or not it is truth or fiction. It seems to me they must believe that if they rattle up something, maybe something will come of it. When you receive this type of email, do you check out the sources before forwarding it on? Are you taking the time to educate yourself on the subject? Do you really believe if you don't send it to 10 others that your hair will turn blue or something worse? Take the time to find out the laws, the money behind the ads, the political gains by the group sending out the message. In short, always follow the Money Trail. Part of the reason we are having so many challenges with our political and financial situations is our lack of interest, naiveté and self-deception.

It is a new day for all of us. There are no quick fixes but there could be more efficient ones. Why are we still unable to modify most of these vulnerable homeowner loans? Why is credit to businesses being so tightly held? Where are the jobs? How are the people looking out after their money that has been loaned to bank holding companies, automobile companies, government no-bid construction programs?

People ask me all the time when will this get better. Not until we have learned we cannot fob off our responsibility to someone else. Change comes from within. It always has. This is a long cycle until at least 2024. The financial structure, government structure, religious structure, social structure and economic structure are all going to be revamped. You can easily see the waste. Now what are you doing to make the situation better? Each year going forward will be different and result in different changes. 2010 will still be trying to get a hand on what we are dealing with now. 2011, 2012, 2013 are very challenging for the United States.

The positive side of this is so very worthy of the involvement of your time and effort. We needed this transit to occur at this time. We need to clean up and out and build structures that support our growth as a great country. The Soul of this country must have known all along that the beginning date this transit last year would be the appropriate time to start the long term growth of the changes.

What can we do if we have no work, losing our homes, heavy into debt, tired and sick? Overreach!!
Yes, that is correct, I said "overreach".

I don't say lightly that we are the "stuff of stars". We are the same energy as the planets. Basically what we do with that energy is find parking spaces. How about considering it for a larger manifestation. You are infinite potential. Do not give yourself excuses for doing less today than you did yesterday. What do you believe you can do? Reach for more. Reach for better experiences. Do not be satisfied with the status quo. Your reach must exceed your grasp. You always have the power to change your circumstances. DO NOT LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE. In fact, if you have a dream, stop talking about it or sharing it with your friends and relatives. Plant it so strongly within yourself that all it can do is burst through the skin. You are always bigger than what is happening in your life.

Many years ago I read a book called "Psychic Discoveries Behind The Iron Curtain". I don't know if it is even in print anymore. It spoke of the experiments done in Russia in the 1900's and mid 20th century. It was pretty amazing stuff. One thing that stood out was the photos taken of the human hand with special camera equipment. It was truly amazing in that the structure of hand was similar to the heavenly structure. Even the visit to the planetarium will tell you that you are carbon based as is all life in the universe. Songwriters sing about "stardust" and that you must be "heaven sent" but it appears actually to be true. Think about it. If that is your essence and substance, why are you running around saying there are no jobs etc. Let's remember our true source. Do not hesitate to reach for more. While you are doing it, support others in knowing that they can too. Maintain your vitality and remember to maintain your youth, you must lower your resistance to starting over.

Get involved and get informed. The creative process always wants us to let go of something to make space for something new - even if that is just in your mind.

September is a full month of Mercury Retrograde energy. Postpone all new purchases, especially electronic, especially large purchases until the 2nd week of October. Check all messages this month. Call back people to make sure they are coming on time - or at all and clean up old issues hanging out in your life. Get more rest and tend to your health. It is challenging energy this whole month.
