The Fourth Month of the Year - the no. 4

The no. 4 represents order, discipline, structure, practicality and productivity. Spring house cleaning and filing our taxes are just two examples of the practical side of the month. Take advantage of this strong energy and use it to your advantage. "Four, firm and fair" used to be a popular saying.

We use common expressions every day and don't even notice their meanings. We think of the "square deal", the "going back to square one", being "fair and square" and, of course, "the square meal". The number four, represented by the "square", speaks to fairness, solidity, reliability and tradition. This month of April provides you with the opportunity to clean up your act, get some sense of order going in your life and "level with yourself and your situation".

There is little frivolity intended in this month. That can wait until next month, the merry month of May. This is not a month to goof off. There is much to be done. Get as much done as you can this month. Leave no stone unturned. Next month, May, begins another Mercury Retrograde when things can go in confusing directions and fall apart. Start your work this month; get your contracts signed this month. Don't let up on yourself. Above all, if there are large purchases to be made, do it in April or wait until June. The same with contracts, purchasing of cars (who is buying?), electronic equipment, etc.

You are bringing depth to your life now. No matter what your circumstances, be systematic this month and don't let anyone or anything get you off of your plan. There is always an "ordeal" associated with the no. 4. It rained 40 days and 40 nights, the Israelites wondered in the wilderness for 40 years and at the 40th day of human pregnancy, the embryo becomes a fetus. REMEMBER - "Nature uses as little as possible of anything" - Johannes Kepler, German astronomer 1571-1630. For the next 30 days, concentrate on being extremely organized, disciplined, productive and results oriented.

I receive so many questions each month that I thought I would pick one of them and answer it for all to read. If you have a particular question (s), please forward it on to me.

Question:
What is the difference between my Life Path number - derived from my date of birth - and my Destiny number - derived from my full birth name?

Answer:
The Soul on its journey decides upon a learning lesson it wants to undertake. That lesson, the overriding energy or direction of one's existence, is decided by your date of birth. The full birth name, exactly as it was spelled at birth, is your Destiny number and indicates an ideal state of expression for that Soul. Another way to say it is the full potential reached by that particular Soul in this incarnation. It is the synchronization of the Soul, the personality and the learning lesson. This Destiny number lies dormant until the integration takes place. Your activities and choices will take you closer or further away from your true Destiny. We always know at some unconscious level if we are really being true to ourselves and our destiny. The contentment of one's life is strongly influenced by how much we are awake to our Destiny.

Are we there yet Mom? No, we are not and won't be "there" for the foreseeable future. We are just starting to make the changes that have been in the works for many, many years. The next three years are the preparatory ones. This is the dissolution phase where we examine the patient and see what parts need treatment. Notice how the media focuses on consumer behavior? The consumer realizes it doesn't need the scented candles, the wind-up gadgets, the bric-a-brac, the brand new car when a used one will do. You get the picture.

There are so many areas that will be addressed during the next few years. They have been ignored and their time has come. You can see it easily in the auto industry in Detroit, the bloated cars (Hummers), the bloated executive salaries and the bloated union benefits. Cars are such a metaphor for America. We are a country that likes change and movement (Life Path of this country is the No. 5). So far we have seen downsizing and restructuring in the corporate world. We have yet to see much of it at the government level. You will. Wherever there was bloat, there will be deflation and contraction. This is both on a micro level and a macro level. Think of everything as a metaphor. From Big Macs, to McMansions, to big cars, to big sizes in body types, even to big mega churches and big Bar Mitzvahs. Contract and simplify are the every day watch words. Many of us still don't realize it.

Currently the citizenry is quiet and trying to hang on to its jobs, its houses and its sanity. We are getting the hang of it and being very creative in creating different income streams. People are doing jobs and living in conditions that they never in a million years could have seen themselves experiencing. This adaptation phase is an important part of a trend or precursor to more lasting changes.

You can choose to be discouraged but that is your individual choice. You can also see this as an opportunity to reinvent yourself and to get your priorities straight. You may have less income during this period but you could also have more. It depends on what you focus on and how much you succumb to the group think. For the most part Americans know they have to make changes and are doing that. The groups in control - Obama and his team, Congress, the banks and investment firms and the governmental departments - are all giving opinions and protecting their interests. I would estimate that this phase will last for a few years. The public will start weighing in and showing its strength by 2012 or perhaps as early as 2011.

In the meantime, get involved. When I say this, I get a collective sigh. People are too tired, too fearful and too splintered to yet see that it is going to take personal involvement in the governmental process. In order to quicken the patient's healing, the citizenry must take an active role. I suggest it starts by getting involved at the local level. That will take you to higher levels and the connective threads lead there. We always have time for what is really important to us. When more exposure takes place, more people will become interested. It's all part of the healing.

I have always said this is a 15-year treatment and is necessary and effective. Plan wisely and don't be so easily led by these get-rich-quick programs out there. I am regularly approached to get involved in more money-making schemes - mostly multi-level in the disguise of a terrific sales opportunity to make money without much effort - and get your friends involved too. Be cautious. The most precious commodity you have outside your energy is your time. Do not waste your time. What is the cost you are paying to get on the bandwagon of some of these promotions? There are workshops being sold for everything - from short selling and foreclosure sales in real estate, to health products that promise to heal your whatever and to skin care products that will youth you. Be very discerning. Through these challenging economic times, every kind of gimmick will be in the spotlight. Use your head. Think, discern and question. There is always a price to pay for your choices. Choose wisely.

I am very positive on the long-term prospects of our situation. We will come out of this so much healthier and more mature. Give it the time needed. Don't panic. The Supreme Intelligence did not leave, nor disappear. There must be a balanced day in our lives. Find it and enjoy it. The sun keeps shining, the waters keep flooding, the rain keeps falling, children keep being born, the elderly die and the rhythm keeps on. This is simply a contraction and we will again exhale. Find your own rhythm now and keep on dancing.
